From graduate to full time employment

Well I can't believe it has been a year since I left university. It has been an incredible year of exciting changes to my professional and personal life. Only after 2 weeks of leaving uni I was offered a job at SGS The Maltings as an Artworker Getting this job so soon after uni was very overwhelming for me and allowed me to stay in Hull and support myself. I was able to move out of student accommodation and into an apartment of my own which was great for my personal well-being and relationships. I was very excited to start this new job and delve into something that could may be challenging for me. The first two weeks of introductions and tutorials were quite a blur but everything we were taught was put into practice as soon as we started full training on amends. International Society of Typographic Designers

As you may have noticed I posted a blog about this project already but on review I have decided to take the project in a different direction and creating something that I feel has more interest and future. This new direction for the ISTD project went so well that the development stage of this became almost obsolete, I started to create some pages in Illustrator whilst looking at some inspiration on the internet. The pages I was creating became ones I was going to use in my final piece. There was a lot of time spent playing around with layout and text justification but after a lot of tweaking and an assessment the finalised piece became apparent.  I have pulled all the following content from www.itsnicethat.com using relevant articles that I felt were of interest to students, design lovers and industry professionals. Nearing the end of an era….

Nearing the end of an era….

Long time no speak....what a busy time I have had since I last posted. A few blog posts will follow updating you all on what I have been up to :) I am very close to completing my degree at Hull School of Art and Design. I can't believe after 6 years of studying art and design I am nearly at the end of my education!  My degree show will take place on the 6th of June and be open to the public Saturday 7th 10 am - 1pm and then Monday 9th - Wednesday 11th 10am - 5pm. Today felt like the next step as I had an interview at Hull University Union for a Graphic Design Intern. The interview went very well and my two interviewers were very friendly.
